Questions are part of good care.
Start here for clear answers about appointments, treatment, telehealth, and what to expect from MEDY.
Beginning care
Who qualifies for medical weight loss?
Eligibility depends on individual health history, measurements, medical conditions, medications, goals, and the treatment being considered. Your provider determines which options are appropriate after an assessment.
What happens at the first appointment?
Your first visit is a conversation about your health, goals, previous weight-loss efforts, current medications, and what you want from care. Your provider then explains appropriate next steps.
Do I have to know which medication I want?
No. You do not need to arrive with a treatment selected. MEDY evaluates the complete picture before recommending a path.
Appointments and locations
Can I visit either MEDY clinic?
Yes. Choose Lathrop or Modesto based on the location and appointment availability that works for you.
Is body contouring available at both clinics?
No. Alma Accent Prime consultations and treatments are available at Lathrop only.
Do you offer telehealth?
Telehealth may be available to eligible adults who are physically located in California, live more than 35 miles from both MEDY clinics, and have the required equipment.
Treatment and progress
Will I receive medication?
Not automatically. Prescription treatment is recommended only when your provider determines it is medically appropriate.
How quickly will I see results?
Progress varies based on starting point, health, treatment, consistency, and individual response. MEDY focuses on meaningful and sustainable progress rather than a universal timeline.
What happens when I reach my goal?
Maintenance is part of the conversation from the beginning. Your provider can help develop a continued plan for habits, monitoring, and appropriate treatment decisions.
Payment and preparation
Does MEDY accept insurance?
MEDY does not currently accept insurance for clinic services. Ask the team about receipts and the potential use of HSA or FSA funds.
What should I bring?
Bring a current medication list, relevant health information, identification, and any questions you want to discuss.
Can I contact the clinic before scheduling?
Yes. Contact Lathrop or Modesto directly if you are unsure which appointment type is appropriate.
